Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III began making cuts recently, and reportedly wrapped up three straight days of change-of-direction drills. Griffin is currently rehabbing after getting torn ligaments in his right knee surgically repaired in January. The news that he has started making cuts is significant, given that it's about the most taxing thing you can do to your legs in the NFL.

The Seattle Seahawks elected to extend general manager John Schneider last season, though it was only reported on Friday. His deal will keep him with the Seahawks through the 2016 season. Schneider inherited a somewhat-talented roster when he took over in 2010, but he's added enough talent to get the Seahawks back to contention in the NFC West, earning a playoff berth as a wildcard last season.
As noted by the folks at Field Gulls, head coach Pete Carroll will likely be next when it comes to extensions:
So, Carroll is under contract for at least two more years - will likely earn an extension, and Schneider is locked in until 2016. Locking Schneider in is an obvious move by Allen, but it’s nice to hear regardless, and it should be interesting to see when Carroll re-ups as well.
San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh isn't ... a favorite of Seattle Seahawks players. After Brandon Browner said, in so many words, that he'd like to choke Harbaugh, wide receiver Golden Tate was asked what he'd like to do to Harbaugh if he were on the field with him. Tate said that he'd first score on him -- fair enough -- but that he'd like to give him the "Sean Lee treatment" after that fact. That is alluding to a big and illegal hit that Tate delivered on the linebacker in the past.

How frequently have we heard the 49ers players talking crap about Pete Carroll, or going into detail about the Seahawks? It seems like the 49ers coaching staff has done a slightly better job keeping the 49ers on message to a certain extent. Maybe this kind of stuff helps the Seahawks get fired up. You’d think a second place finish to the Super Bowl runner-up would be enough, but apparently not.
The Miami Dolphins have made it a priority to sign fullback Vonta Leach. As reported on Friday, the Dolphins apparently want to get a deal done "by the end of the week." Leach was recently released by the Baltimore Ravens after the two sides couldn't come to an agreement on a pay cut for Leach, who is getting up there in years. Still, he figured to have plenty left in the tank to contribute, and would be a good fit for Miami.
Friday saw the news that three new search warrants have been issued in the investigation of tight end Aaron Hernandez and his potential involvement in the suspected homicide of Odin Lloyd. More specific descriptions of the search warrants were not made available, but they are in addition to an earlier warrant that was executed on Hernandez's home previously.
