The Indianapolis Colts will begin their 2013 season missing a receiver. Tom James reported this afternoon that LaVon Brazill will miss the first four games of the season after being suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

A sixth-round pick in 2012, Brazill finished his rookie season with 11 receptions, 186 yards, and one touchdown. There was an opportunity to expand his role during his second year, but that will have to wait. Colts blog Stampede Blue is questioning what the suspension could mean for Brazill’s future on the Colts.
Last season as a rookie, the sixth round draft pick caught 11 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown in limited action. Despite the limited playing time the team and fans saw potential in Brazill and were hoping that he could make a bigger impact in 2013. While that is still the hope, Brazill’s chances of even making the 53-man roster took a significant hit with the suspension.
It's been a bad day for second-year receivers and drug tests. Earlier today news broke from New York that theGiants' UDFA receiver Brandon Collins will also miss the first four games of the season due to a similar positive test. While Brazill has a better chance of remaining with the team as a former draft pick, both players represent the textbook definition of how not to behave as a young NFL player.
