Reggie Bush thinks Lions can win Super Bowl

Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush thinks he has a lot to offer the team, and that the team is well-positioned to make a run at the Super Bowl.

Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush thinks his team can win the Super Bowl sooner rather than later, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Some perceive the Lions to be pretty far away from contending for the Lombardi Trophy, but Bush thinks otherwise.

"Honestly, I don't think we're far at all. Right now, we jut got to think about doing the little things right and kind of coming together, building the chemistry that's going to help us down into the season," Bush told the paper. As a member of the New Orleans Saints in 2010, Bush won a Super Bowl after the consistently good Saints finally put it all together.

If their record is any indication, there’s a lot of putting together to be done in Detroit. Last season, the Lions went 4-12, including an eight-game losing streak to wrap up the season. For a team that was expected to make the leap and be among the NFL’s elite offenses, it was incredibly disappointing.

But with Matthew Stafford at quarterback and Calvin Johnson at wide receiver, Bush could be the missing piece. Jahvid Best was supposed to be the long-term starter for Detroit, but multiple concussions and an uncertain NFL future set the Lions back in the running game.

Bush put up 986 yards and six touchdowns last season with the Miami Dolphins, and 1,086 yards and six touchdowns the year before that. He'll get the majority of the carries in Detroit, and whether or not that equates to a Super Bowl title is anyone's guess, but the team surely has a lot to correct after last season, and Bush figures to be a part of the solution.
