The DUI arrests of Denver Broncos executives Matt Russell and Tom Heckert will likely be met with "severe" discipline, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. Team president Joe Ellis said on Tuesday his "expectation is the discipline will be severe."
Broncos executives DUI arrests to bring ‘severe’ discipline
There will be “severe” discipline for both Tom Heckert and Matt Russell, executives with the Denver Broncos who were both arrested for DUI recently.

Both Russell and Heckert were both recently arrested and charged with DUI, though Russell’s case seems a lot worse. Russell allegedly crashed his Toyota Tundra truck into a parked police car at approximately 40 miles per hour. Heckert allegedly almost ran into a stop light and was “striking the median.”
The Broncos have now said the punishment will be severe, but the team first has to consult with the NFL. There is no time table as to when either executive will be disciplined, but expect more statements from both the team and the league on the matter.
Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand was given a 30-day suspension and a $100,000 fine when he was convicted for driving while impaired in 2010. Aside from that, there's not a whole lot to go on, but given that it happened with two executives within the same organization in such a short amount of time, the punishment might be even more significant.
