Ronnell Lewis pleads no contest to bar fight charges

The Lions defensive lineman received his sentencing by the court in relation to a bar fight.

Detroit Lions defensive end Ronnell Lewis has been given a six-month deferred sentence after pleading no contest to charges of disturbing the peace and public intoxication stemming from a bar fight in April, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Since the fight happened in Norman, Okla., Lewis can’t have another legal issue within the city limits over the next six months. If he stays out of trouble, the case will be dismissed.

According to reports, the bar fight resulted in Lewis punching a man, Herve Sivuilu, in the face while he was on the ground in the presence of two police officers. At this point, Lewis was tasered by law enforcement but continued his attempt to beat up Sivuilu.

Lewis was tasered once again and, this time, fell to the ground before being arrested.

Lewis was a fourth-round pick of the Lions in 2012, and played only eight games.
