Kansas City put the franchise tag on Albert this offseason, but the deadline to get those players signed to extensions comes on Monday. Both sides would likely want to get a deal done, but time is definitely running out.

As noted at Arrowhead Pride, keeping Albert will necessitate a large contract, at least for the first two years:
The way I see this with Albert is this: He is making $9.8 million this year. If the Chiefs tag him again, he will make over $11 million in 2014. That would put his two-year total around $21.5 million. That should be the starting point for the two-year payout on his deal because if the Chiefs want to keep Albert the next two seasons that’s how much it will cost him.

Kellen Winslow is a player often regarded as past his prime, appearing in just one game with the New England Patriots last season. That said, he believes he can rebound after signing with the New York Jets, a team in desperate need of players to catch the football, especially with the free agent departure of tight end Dustin Keller. Winslow thinks he can catch close to 100 receptions this season despite his recent injuries.
The Dallas Cowboys released their only fullback, Lawrence Vickers, to open up a roster spot. Vickers had a down year last season, and the Cowboys will save $1.2 million in cap space and will likely bring in someone much cheaper to compete for what is an already-limited fullback role.
Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Calais Campbell believes his team can win the NFC West and make it into the playoffs next season, despite most picking them to finish last. Campbell, of course, believes in the defense, but he also said that the Cardinals now have a "real quarterback" to go with their defense. That is in reference to Carson Palmer, who is past his prime at this point, but is surely better than guys like John Skelton and Ryan Lindley.
The Buffalo Bills aren't naming their starting quarterback just yet ... because they don't know who it will be. Head coach Doug Marrone said that he has yet to decide between free agent addition Kevin Kolb and rookie E.J. Manuel. The two are expected to compete throughout training camp and preseason. Kolb was playing well before getting injured last season with the Cardinals.
