The Washington Redskins have asked a judge to dismiss a lawsuit brought on by former NFL player Barrett Green, who says he was intentionally injured because of deliberate tactics by the team and former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, per Yahoo.
Washington Redskins ask for dismissal of Barrett Green’s lawsuit
A former NFL linebacker is taking the Redskins to court, but the team believes his case is without merit.

The team believes Green didn't follow the correct protocol by not filing grievances at the time of injury. Washington also believes the statute of limitations has more than run out at this point.
Williams was suspended indefinitely before the 2012 season after being found guilty as the leader of a bounty scheme within the New Orleans Saints organization. Williams has since been reinstated and now serves on the Tennessee Titans as a senior assistant.
Green, a New York Giants linebacker at the time of his injury, believes the career-ending knee injury he sustained in December 2004 was a direct result of malice on the part of the Redskins.
The Redskins are hoping the case gets thrown out before it even goes to trial, which is currently scheduled for Sept. 24.
