Trent Richardson injury: Browns RB has ‘no pain at all’

Fully recovered, the former first-round pick is ready for action in 2013.

Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson says he has no pain in his right leg after missing all of mandatory minicamp in June with a strained muscle in his shin, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

The second-year back from the University of Alabama has proclaimed he will be ready to go once training camp begins for the Browns on July 25.

“I have no pain at all in the leg,” he said by phone before a Tuesday pool workout in Pensacola, Fla. “I’ll be ready for camp and I’ll be ready to go for the season.”

To this point in his very brief career, Richardson has had to deal with injuries more often than he would like. Last season, Richardson played through broken ribs. Even with the pain, the rookie amassed 950 rushing yards and scored 11 touchdowns to lead the Cleveland offense in both categories.

With new head coach Rob Chudzinski in the fold, the Browns are ready to embark on a new era with the failures of past head coaches Pat Shurmur and Eric Mangini behind them. Richardson believes good times are ahead.

“I’ll be full-go right from the get-go and y’all out there will see me flying around,” he said. “I can’t wait to get out there and I can’t wait for the first game. I’ve been waiting forever for this season and I know it’s going to be a good one for us.”
