Ryan Tannehill is "without question" creating the most buzz of any quarterback during the offseason, ESPN's Chris Mortensen said during an appearance on the NFL32 program Tuesday (via Rotoworld). Mortensen said that Tannehill's receivers have been praising his improvement in downhill accuracy and getting rid of the ball in a timely fashion.

The Miami Dolphins hope that Ryan Tannehill will make some improvements in his sophomore season, and according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, he appears on track to do so.

Tannehill had a decent rookie season, but it wasn’t the headline-maker that some other first-year quarterbacks enjoyed. He threw for 3,294 yards and 12 touchdowns, but had 13 interceptions and a completion percentage of just 58.3. Many of those interceptions came after Tannehill hesitated and eventually launched the ball downfield to avoid being sacked.
It will be interesting to see if Tannehill has improved in this area. He needs to be decisive and accurate, two of the most important skills required from any franchise quarterback. Of course, the Dolphins are doing what they can to make life easier for Tannehill in his second season.
The team signed free agent wide receiver Mike Wallace to a big contract this offseason. They also drafted tight end Dion Sims and signed Dustin Keller. Assuming Brian Hartline doesn't regress after finding his stride, the Dolphins could certainly be in line for sustained success over the next couple seasons. However, all of that depends on Tannehill. The team has been searching for their franchise quarterback for some time, and it would hurt big time if Tannehill doesn't improve season to season.
