The Miami Dolphins signed rookie defensive lineman Dion Jordan on Saturday. Jordan is the team's first-round pick and the No. 3 overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft. Signing rookies is generally easier with the rookie wage-scale these days, but first-round picks can take a bit longer. Jordan is the final Miami draft pick to sign.
Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett says the team will run the ball more in 2013, according to Calvin Watkins of ESPN. Last season, DeMarco Murray was the leading running back with just 663 yards and four touchdowns. Felix Jones put up 402 yards and three touchdowns behind him. Murray is expected to be the starter again, but rookie Joseph Randle could earn some carries as well.
New York Giants safety Will Hill has been suspended four games for a substance abuse violation. Hill was suspended four games last year as well, and it stands to reason that his future with the Giants could be in question. He's eligible to return after the Giants' Sept. 29 game against the Chiefs and can participate in practice and preseason games.
The San Francisco 49ers filled up their physically unable to perform and other inactive lists on Saturday. Running back Kendall Hunter, linebacker Darius Fleming and wide receivers Mario Manningham and Kyle Williams were all placed on the active/PUP list. In addition to them, defensive linemen Tank Carradine and Quinton Dial, running back Marcus Lattimore and offensive tackle Luke Marquardt were all placed on the active/non-football injury list.
