USA TODAY SportsTampa Bay was reportedly set to release the 27-year-old cornerback before agreeing to the trade. They will release him now, saving $1.5 million in salary cap space. Wright signed a five-year $37.5 million deal last offseason, but the remaining guaranteed money in the deal was voided when he was suspended for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Wright restructured his contract with the Bucs this offseason, reducing it to a one-year deal worth $1.5 million and no guaranteed money.
