The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed running back Peyton Hillis on Tuesday. Hillis had a couple of good seasons with the Cleveland Browns before his production dropped off due to injuries. He hasn't recaptured that high level of play, which is the reason he was a free agent for so long. The Buccaneers could use some depth behind Doug Martin, however, and Hillis will come in and compete with Brian Leonard and others for the backup job.
NFL news: Buccaneers sign Peyton Hillis, Bills release Mark Anderson
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed running back Peyton Hillis and the Buffalo Bills released defensive end Mark Anderson. Read on for more you may have missed from Tuesday.

Here’s what else you may have missed from Tuesday:
The Buffalo Bills released defensive end Mark Anderson on Tuesday. Anderson had a poor season in 2012, after signing a four-year, $19.5 million contract following an impressive 2011 campaign. He was supposed to solidify the Buffalo pass rush next to Mario Williams, but that didn't happen, and now he'll try to find a new team as training camps get underway around the league.
Former Kansas City Chiefs running back Larry Johnson pleaded no contest to domestic violence charges. He was sentenced to one year of probation, and ordered to pay a small fine and perform 48 hours of community service as well as attend six months of mandatory counseling. Johnson is currently a free agent and it seems unlikely that he'll find a new team any time soon.
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman Anthony Spencer will undergo knee surgery and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks. This means Spencer will miss the majority of training camp. He sat out of most minicamp and OTA drills due to the injury and was waiting to see if it would require surgery rather than go under the knife without giving it some time to heal. He should be ready to go for the start of the regular season, however.
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew has been cleared for practice after spending the offseason rehabbing a Lisfranc injury. Jones-Drew will likely see a limited workload in training camp, but the team will definitely be happy to see him practicing, regardless. Jones-Drew has said that he's out of shape at this point due to the inactivity required for his rehab, but the reps in training camp should be plenty to have him in playing shape by the start of the regular season.
