Oakland needs help in many areas, and it added a potentially nice piece with Gurode.

Contract terms are unknown, although its likely to be a one-year deal with little to no guaranteed money.
Gurode is an 11-year NFL veteran, playing nine of those campaigns with the Dallas Cowboys as a center. With the Cowboys, Gurode made five-straight Pro Bowl appearances, the last one coming in 2010.

In the past two years, Gurode played 2011 with the Baltimore Ravens before joining the Chicago Bears last season, appearing in two games.
With Oakland, Gurode will likely be a backup to Stefen Wisniewski, a third-year center out of Penn State. Should Wisniewski get injured, Gurode would provide some leadership for a young group which includes Jared Veldheer and Tony Bergstrom, both 26 years old.
