Bills LB Kiko Alonso will miss Vikings game
The Bills will rest their rookie linebacker during Friday night’s preseason game as a precaution.

Alonso, a second-round selection out of Oregon, sat out the team’s Wednesday practice. Though he has been given the OK to return to the field, head coach Doug Marrone said he is taking a cautious approach to Alonso’s return.
“He’s cleared by the trainers, the coaches want him out there, I’m resting him,” Marrone told reporters. “I’m going to hold him out a couple of days, just to make sure we get him back. I don’t plan on him playing.”
Alonso struggled through injuries and off-field issues during his first two seasons at Oregon, but overcame those to post 81 tackles, 14 for a loss, during his senior season. His athleticism and size figures to make him an immediate force along Buffalo’s front seven.
Wide receiver Stevie Johnson has also been ruled out for Friday's contest, and Brad Smith's availability is still questionable.
