Redskins vs. Buccaneers 2013 final score: Washington runs over Tampa, 30-12

The Redskins’ defense had an impressive showing Thursday, holding the Buccaneers to just 142 total yards of offense in a 30-12 win.

The Washington Redskins ended the preseason with a bang, rolling over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 30-12, on Thursday night. The defense ruled the night, forcing two Mike Glennon turnovers and hold the Bucs to just 142 total yards of offense.

Glennon struggled throughout the night. The rookie played almost the entire game behind center, but went just 7-for-17 passing with an interception and a lost fumble. Not that he had much help from the running game. Peyton Hillis was the Bucs' leading rusher with nine carries for 33 yards.

Pat White played the entire game at quarterback for the Redskins and was effective, going 13-for-22 for 181 yards, albeit with an interception. He pitched in 20 yards rushing and a touchdown to help keep Tampa Bay's defense honest. The Redskins' deep running back corps also had a good night. Evan Royster led the way with 11 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown.

Washington led 27-6 at halftime.

Injury report

Dezmon Briscoe left the game early for the Redskins with a shoulder sprain. Buccaneers tight end Tom Crabtree was carted off the field with a potentially serious leg injury.

Did they cover?

The Redskins were favored by 2 points at kickoff, so they covered and then some.
