Vince Young will work out with the Green Bay Packers on Monday, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. The Packers are looking for a backup quarterback to compete with Graham Harrell and B.J. Coleman behind Aaron Rodgers, and Young could fit the bill, though he has not played since the 2011 season.
Packers rumors: Vince Young will work out on Monday
Vince Young will work out with the Packers on Monday as the team looks to solidify the depth chart behind Aaron Rodgers.

Young's career has not gone the way one might expect for a former No. 3 overall pick. After being released by the Tennessee Titans after the 2010 season, Young signed as a backup to Michael Vick with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011. After a one-year stint, Young signed another one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills in 2012, but was released before the regular season began.
Still, Young is a former AFC Offensive Rookie of the Year and two-time Pro Bowler. He is also much more mobile than Harrell, Coleman or Rodgers, and could be a valuable training tool in practice against the rise of read-option offenses. The Packers were torched for 263 yards passing and 181 yards rushing by Colin Kaepernick in the NFC Championship Game last season.
Coincidentally, the Packers will open the 2013 season against Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 8.
