Darrelle Revis is targeting a return from a torn ACL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' season opener on Sept. 8. So far, the former New York Jets cornerback appears to be on track, with Bucs general manager Mark Dominik telling Sports Illustrated's Peter King that Revis is "almost certain" to play Week 1.
Darrelle Revis injury: Buccaneers CB ‘almost certain’ to play Week 1
Darrelle Revis is “almost certain” to play Week 1, according to Buccaneers GM Mark Dominik.

Revis has not yet rejoined the team, but rehab workouts have reportedly been going well. His knee has responded favorably to strain, with no swelling occurring during testing. Revis has been working with a camp receiver on the side during training camp.
Buccaneers head coach Greg Schiano would not rule out Revis participating in the preseason, though the cornerback would not play until the third game at the earliest, according to King. Schiano also said that the Bucs will use Revis on an island against the best receivers they face, just as Revis was used in New York. Via King:
“Coach and I have talked about it,” Revis said, “and he’s open to it. It’ll be predicated on the gameplan. But I think you’ll see it a lot. I might have to dust the cobwebs off, but it’s the way I play best. I’ve said, ‘Coach, this is the way I play best,’ and I think he agrees.”
