Santonio Holmes is not expected to be ready for the start of the regular season for the New York Jets. Santonio Holmes injury: Jets WR expected to miss ‘at least 4 games’
Holmes is reportedly expected to miss at least four games during the regular season as he continues to recover from a Lisfranc injury.

Holmes is currently on the Jets’ physically unable to perform list. The designation has little meaning now, but could mean a lot if Holmes is still on the PUP when training camp finally breaks. Players on the PUP list to start the regular season must sit out their team’s first six games of the season. Based on Holmes’ latest update, he is a candidate to earn the designation.
Holmes missed 12 games last season with the foot injury. The Jets struggled mightily with Holmes and rookie Stephen Hill out for significant stretches of the season. The Jets totaled 3,178 yards receiving last season, the third-lowest total in the NFL.
Thankfully, Hill has reportedly overcome his hamstring problems and is back catching passes in training camp. Clyde Gates has also performed well in camp, according to the Post.
