Riley Cooper plays with Eagles 1st team offense

Cooper returned to the Eagles on Tuesday and is playing with the first team again.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper is practicing with the first team once again, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Eagles. Cooper returned to the Eagles on Tuesday.

Cooper was excused from the team last week after a viral video revealed him using a racial slur at a concert. He was fined by the Eagles and drew harsh criticism from teammates. Cooper took almost a week off to attend counseling and sensitivity training.

More Eagles coverage at Bleeding Green Nation

Before the incident, Cooper was expected to be the No. 2 receiver when Jeremy Maclin was lost for the year with a torn ACL. There was speculation that the Eagles would release him for his comments, but since he's already running with the first team on the first day he came back, the entire episode appears to be water under the bridge. Cooper is competing with Damaris Johnson, Russell Shepard and Jason Avant for a starting position alongisde DeSean Jackson.
