Arrelious Benn suffered a torn ACL during practice Tuesday, the Philadelphia Eagles announced via Twitter. The injury likely means that the wideout's season is over, and continues what has so far been a horrendous training camp for Eagles wide receivers.
Arrelious Benn injury: Eagles WR tears ACL at practice
Arrelious Benn went down with a torn ACL on Tuesday, continuing what has been an awful training camp for the Eagles’ receiving corps.

Benn was competing for a spot on the team's 53-man roster before suffering the injury. He dealt with nagging knee and shoulder injuries last season that limited him to just four receptions in eight games played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His trade to Philadelphia for a sixth-round pick in the offseason was supposed to give the wideout a fresh start from an injury-plagued career.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Benn returned to training camp Sunday and had just two full days of practice before hurting his knee. Early in training camp, fellow wide receiver Jeremy Maclin also tore his ACL, leaving the Eagles without one of their biggest playmakers in the receiving corps. Current No. 2 receiver Riley Cooper also recently made headlines, though for more dubious reasons.
The Eagles also lost linebacker Jason Phillips to a torn ACL earlier in training camp.
