The New York Jets are looking for a healthy running back, and may finally have one next week. Chris Ivory, who the Jets traded for in the offseason to become their leading man in the backfield, claims he will be playing soon, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
Chris Ivory injury: Jets RB will be ‘full speed’ in 1 week
The Jets expect their starting running back to be back in no time.

“I probably won’t play this Friday, but definitely next week, Monday or Tuesday. (By) Tuesday, I’ll definitely be full speed.”
Ivory came to New York as the unquestioned starter from the New Orleans Saints, with new general manager John Idzik signing Mike Goodson and keeping Joe McKnight and Bilal Powell on the roster as secondary options.
After Goodson was arrested for drug possession and McKnight suffered a head injury, Powell has taken the first-team reps throughout the majority of camp.
In his three-year career, Ivory has rushed for 1.307 yards on 5.8 yards per carry. He’s not shown much in the pass-catching department, with three catches to his name.
He has also had injury concerns throughout his time in the NFL. Over the past two seasons, Ivory has combined to play 12 games.
