Cardinals vs. Packers results: Carson Palmer, Drew Stanton lead Arizona to 17-0 victory

Quarterbacks Carson Palmer and Drew Stanton led the Arizona Cardinals to a 17-0 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Friday.

The Arizona Cardinals took a relatively easy win over the Green Bay Packers in exhibition action on Friday, 17-0. Arizona quarterbacks Carson Palmer, Drew Stanton and Ryan Lindley all looked good on the day, which is a good sign given the team's struggles at the position of late.

Palmer completed four of six passes for 77 yards and a touchdown, which came on a 38-yard pass to Andre Roberts in the first quarter. Stanton received significant playing time, and completed 8 of 14 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. Lindley came in and completed his first three passes for 78 yards, finishing with a 3-for-5 mark.

Arizona rookie running back Stepfan Taylor managed 53 rushing yards, but it took him 17 carries to do so. Meanwhile, the young Green Bay backs were led by James Starks, who had just 38 yards.

Vince Young took a few snaps at quarterback for the Packers, completing 1 of 3 passes for seven yards. Graham Harrell took the most snaps at the position, completing 12 of 19 passes for 76 yards. Aaron Rodgers attempted just five passes, completing three for 62 yards.

Did they cover?

Green Bay opened as six-point favorites to win, but the line moved all over the place, with them favored by as little as one point on some books. It didn’t matter, as the team didn’t come close to covering.
