Sullivan was barely in on the play and Detroit’s position was secure when Suh made the play, as well. Suh has been no stranger to NFL discipline in the past, which is likely why the league is reportedly seeking this large amount for the fine.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY SportsThe play in question occurred during the second quarter when Suh was flagged for an illegal low block following an interception. Suh dove at the legs of Vikings offensive lineman John Sullivan, but Suh claims he was not intentionally going for Sullivan’s knees.
“I wasn’t by any means going for his knees,” Suh said, via ESPN.com. “He knows that. We had a great conversation running out at halftime, and he understood. My aim was his waist to cut him off.”

The low hit caused Sullivan to hold his knee on the ground for several minutes and reversed a defensive touchdown for the Lions. On the replay, it was clear that Levy did not need the block by Suh. The low block wiped off the touchdown and likely will result in a fine for Suh.
