Anthony Spencer injury: Cowboys DE expected to play vs. Chiefs

The Cowboys will see the 2013 debut of Anthony Spencer in Week 2.

The Cowboys will be packing their normal punch on defense against the Chiefs in Week 2. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Dallas outside linebacker Anthony Spencer will take the field on Sunday despite nursing a knee injury. Spencer missed the Cowboys' Week 1 win against the Giants due because of the knee injury.

Spencer was listed as questionable on the team's official depth chart after being limited in practice for most of the week. The seventh-year pass rusher was given the "franchise tag" for the second year in a row this offseason. Spencer will be making the transition from outside linebacker to defensive end due to the Cowboys' defense switching from a 3-4 to a Tampa 2 4-3 front. He is expected to receive limited snaps against the Chiefs, according to Rapoport. It is unclear whether or not Spencer will start the game opposite DeMarcus Ware.

The Cowboys will be on the road against the Chiefs at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
