Eddie Lacy injury: Concussion forces Packers RB out

Eddie Lacy suffered a concussion early in Sunday’s game and will not return.

Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy left Sunday's game with a concussion. He will not return to the game. Lacy was drilled by Washington Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather after a 10-yard run. It was his only carry of the game.

James Starks and Johnathan Franklin will handle running duties for the rest of the game.

Lacy was drafted in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft and was expected to be Green Bay's feature back. He won the starting job over Starks in the preseason but had a rough NFL debut last week, managing just 41 yards on 14 carries and losing a fumble.

If Lacy is out for an extended time, the Packers will be forced to turn to Starks and Franklin. Starks played in just six games last season, getting 255 yards on 71 carries. Franklin struggled mightily in the preseason, but he may have to step up early in his first year.
