A pall was cast over the city of Baltimore when Ray Rice, one of NFL's the most dependable running backs over the last several years, went down with a non-contact hip injury.
Ray Rice leaves game with hip injury
The Ravens’ stud running back suffered a dreaded non-contact injury.
Rice took a handoff from Joe Flacco in the fourth quarter of the Ravens' game against the Cleveland Browns and collapsed on his cut. The running back walked off under his own power but went straight to the locker room favoring his left hip. He's not likely to return.
The game had been a disappointment for Rice even before the injury; the normally mediocre Browns defense held Rice to just 45 total yards and a fumble over the first three-plus quarters.
More updates on Rice’s hip to come as the Ravens nurse a late 14-6 lead against Cleveland.
