Jaguars vs. Raiders 2013 game recap: Jacksonville offense struggles in 19-9 loss

A new quarterback produced the same results for the Jaguars in Week 2.

The Jacksonville Jaguars once again proved that they are one of the worst teams in the entire NFL in a 19-9 loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

Chad Henne replaced the injured Blaine Gabbert at quarterback for the Jaguars, but the result was the same. The offense was pitiful, mustering only 248 yards, most of which came in garbage time. Henne did lead a touchdown drive late in the game, which was the first Jaguars touchdown of the entire season.

The Raiders won the game with their ability to run the football. Darren McFadden rushed for 129 yards and Terrelle Pryor rushed for 50, and that was all that seemed to be working for the Oakland offense. Defensively, the Raiders managed to sack Henne five times, helping stall the Jaguars offense even more.

The win was the Raiders’ first of the season, while the Jaguars are still winless.

Fantasy studs and duds

Darren McFadden was the only worthwhile fantasy player in Sunday’s game. He rushed for 129 yards but also lost a fumble.

Maurice Jones-Drew was injured in the game and turned in a second straight disappointing fantasy performance for his owners. Cecil Shorts III was the victim of poor quarterback play, but still managed 93 yards on eight catches.

Injury report

Maurice Jones-Drew sprained his ankle in the second quarter and did not receive another carry for the rest of the game.

Did they cover?

The Raiders were favored by 3.5 points in the game and covered the spread.
