Josh Freeman denies reported trade request

The Buccaneers may not have to face a trade demand from quarterback Josh Freeman.

Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman may not want out of Tampa Bay after all. Despite reports to the contrary, Freeman told Pewter Report's Mark Cook, following Sunday's loss to the Saints, that he wants to stay with the team. The five-year veteran denied the Jason La Confora's report that stated Freeman wanted to be moved by the trade deadline.

Freeman told Pewter Report that he just learned of the report prior to the interview. “No not at all,” Freeman said. “That’s the first I heard of it, literally was 10 seconds ago, right before I walked in here. Without a doubt I am a Buccaneer and am continuing to prepare and try and go out every week and give my team a chance to win the game.”

The Buccaneers lost to the Saints at home on Sunday and are now 0-2 on the season. Freeman has combined for 335 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Tampa Bay’s two games this season. However, he has a putrid 45.3 completion percentage through eight quarters of play. He has also fumbled twice, losing one.

The Buccaneers will travel to New England to take on the Patriots next week.
