Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert is probably going to be on the bench for another week as his hand laceration continues to heal, according to SB Nation's Big Cat Country.
Blaine Gabbert injury: Jaguars QB likely to miss Week 3
The former first-round pick might need to wait another week before getting on the field.
Gabbert was originally injured during he fourth quarter of the season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, sustaining a cut that needed 15 stitches to close up and is still healing. That means that backup Chad Henne is in line to draw his second straight start, this time against the Seattle Seahawks on the road.
Henne made his first start of the year in a loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. Henne put up decent overall numbers, completing 25 of 38 passing attempts for 241 yards and a touchdown, but much of it came with the Jaguars hopelessly out of the game.
Head coach Gus Bradley wouldn’t make a definitive call on who plays under center next Sunday, but was happy with Henne’s play, per Jacksonville.com
“Pretty good,” Bradley said of Henne’s game. “I thought he played with poise.”
