Trent Richardson will be picking up a new jersey number to go along with his new team. The recently traded running back will wear No. 34 for the Indianapolis Colts, a change from the No. 33 he wore for a year-plus with the Cleveland Browns.
Trent Richardson will wear No. 34 for Colts
T-Rich now has new number to go along with his new team.
No active player on the Colts roster currently wears No. 33, meaning Richardson apparently made the change voluntarily. Reserve running back Bobby Rainey currently wears No. 34 for the Browns.
Richardson wore No. 3 during his college career at Alabama, where he finished second runner-up in the 2011 Heisman Trophy race behind his new signal caller, Andrew Luck.
Richardson was dealt by the Browns in a blockbuster trade that sent shockwaves through the NFL landscape on Wednesday. Citing Richardson’s incongruence with the team’s offensive scheme, Cleveland shipped the second-year running back to Indianapolis for a first-round draft pick in 2014. The trade comes less than two years after the Browns selected him with the third overall pick of the 2012 draft.
