The Colts will have newly-acquired running back Trent Richardson in the lineup against the 49ers on Sunday. Colts head coach Chuck Pagano says he will play Richardson as much as he can on Sunday, according to Kevin Bowen of Colts.com. Indianapolis acquired Richardson for a first-round pick in 2014 from the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday night.
Trent Richardson will play for Colts vs. 49ers
The Colts will use running back Trent Richardson against the 49ers in Week 3, just days after acquiring him in a trade.
Pagano is excited about the acquisition of Richardson and believes he will fit in well in Indianapolis. “He can do it all,” said second-year head coach. “This guy is a rolling ball of butcher knives. He fits our scheme to a T.”
The Colts are trying to creating a winning program with young players. “We are trying to build something special here ... this gives you another opportunity to do that,“ said Pagano. ”[The Colts’ front office] want[s] to win. Trent wants to win and that’s the bottom line.”
The Colts travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers on CBS at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
