The Baltimore Ravens have removed some of the speculation over Ray Rice's status against the Houston Texans, officially downgrading him to doubtful heading into Sunday's game, according to FOX Sports 1 reporter Mike Garafolo.

Initially thought to be a game-time decision, Rice has been downgraded to doubtful heading into the Ravens-Texans game.

The running back was expected to be a game-time decision as he battles a hip flexor injury, with head coach John Harbaugh describing him as day-to-day earlier this week. Having missed consecutive practices on Wednesday and Thursday, however, the team doesn’t like his chances of taking the field against the Texans.
Rice was injured in a game against the Cleveland Browns last week, going down without contact while trying to make a cut during the fourth quarter of the Ravens' win. He walked off the field under his own power, but headed directly to the locker room and did not return.
One of the league’s most dependable backs over the past few seasons, Rice has struggled thus far in 2013, posting just 72 yards and one touchdown through two games. After averaging no less than four yards per carry through his first five NFL seasons, the three-time Pro Bowler has averaged just 2.9 yards so far this year.
