Reggie Bush injury status: Lions RB still game-time decision

Lions running back Reggie Bush has a chance to play on his injured knee in Week 3 against the Redskins, depending on which reports you choose to believe.

It's not yet clear whether Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush will suit up against the Redskins. One report from CBS Sports' Dave Richard cites sources saying Bush is expected to be active, but ESPN's Adam Schefter says otherwise:

Bush has been nursing a knee injury since Week 2's 25-21 loss to the Cardinals. He was hit in the knee by a helmet during the second quarter and struggled to return to the game following the injury. After a pair of carries in the third quarter, Bush went to the sideline and did not return to the field. He was listed as questionable on the Lions' injury report after missing practice all week.

Per Richard, the official decision will come at 11 a.m. on Sunday. However, he is still considered a game-time decision, according to NFL Network’s Stacey Dales. The reports continue a week of conflicting reports on Bush’s status..

If the Lions had to miss out on Bush, Week 3 would be the week to do it. The Redskins, who host the Lions, have given up 407 rushing yards in two games. Washington are worst in the league against the run by a large margin, as the next closest team in run-stopping deficiency is Jacksonville with 347. If Bush misses the game, Joique Bell and Mikel Leshoure will get the carries for Detroit.

The Lions visit the Redskins at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
