Diehl underwent surgery on the thumb in the preseason and has yet to make his season debut. He's officially listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. It's unknown if he will be active for the game, but getting medical clearance was one of the last hurdles he was facing.
The Giants' offensive line has been ravaged by injuries. Center David Baas and guard Chris Snee have already been ruled out for this week's game. Even when healthy, this unit has been playing poorly, allowing Eli Manning to get sacked seven times in last week's drubbing to the Carolina Panthers. With so few healthy bodies on the depth chart, there's an outside chance Diehl will be active and play a rotational role.
