Whatever happened to home field advantage? Despite playing at Ford Field, the Detroit Lions' defense was the apparent target of a beer bottle thrown from the stands just before halftime. The bottle hit cornerback Darius Slay, who described the incident after the game. From MLive's Kyle Meinke:
Lions vs. Bears: Fan throws beer bottle, hits Lions CB Darius Slay
"I was looking, like, 'Did someone just throw a bottle at me?" Slay said after the game. "I felt it, I looked around.
"I was just kind of mad, because somebody threw a bottle at me."
It's unclear who threw the bottle, although there were several Bears fans near the corner of that end zone who led several "Let's go Bears!" chants. That includes one while Rashean Mathis was helped off the field after sustaining a possible concussion.
You can see the bottle in the GIF below, which initially appeared to be thrown at Chicago tight end Martellus Bennett. Slay, who wears No. 30, cannot be seen from this angle:

According to a fan who tweeted at Lions blog Pride of Detroit, the fan who threw the bottle was in fact a Bears fan:
@PrideOfDetroit Guy in Bears jersey threw it, got escorted out by security.

At least Slay and the Lions got the last laugh, winning the game 40-32.
