The Denver Broncos will play host to the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens to officially kick off the 2013 NFL season on Thursday night. The two teams have not met each other since the Ravens' thrilling double-overtime win in the Divisional Round of the 2012 NFL Playoffs last January. No doubt, the Broncos will be motivated for revenge.

The Ravens and the Broncos will open the 2013 NFL season Thursday night with a rematch of last year’s thrilling Divisional Round matchup.

If fans are lucky, they'll get to see another quarterback duel like the one that took place in the playoffs. Joe Flacco outshone Peyton Manning that day, passing for 331 yards and three touchdowns, including a 70-yard touchdown pass to Jacoby Jones to tie the game with 30 seconds left in regulation.
Both teams look a little different heading into this season. The Ravens lost a lot of key talent from their Super Bowl squad, including linebackers Ray Lewis, Dannell Ellerbe and Paul Kruger, safety Ed Reed and wide receiver Anquan Boldin. They did help the pass rush by adding Elvis Dumervil, who unwillingly left the Broncos this offseason thanks to a fax machine error.
The Broncos' pass rush is decimated at the moment. In addition to the loss of Dumervil, the team also will be without sack artist Von Miller because of a six-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The offense will be explosive once again, however, with the addition of Wes Welker bolstering what was already a fearsome passing attack.
