The Cleveland Browns had a solid preseason, and now the question is whether that success will translate to the regular season as they host the Miami Dolphins in Week 1 on Sunday.
How to watch Dolphins vs. Browns online, TV schedule, radio and more
The Browns haven’t had much success on their season openers lately, and the Miami Dolphins haven’t had much success against the Browns lately either.
First step for the Browns will be to win their season-opening game, something they haven't done since 2004. It'll be coach Rob Chudzinski's debut in the regular season as he tries to get the most out of second-year quarterback Brandon Weeden. The Browns might have to rely on running back Trent Richardson a little bit more than normal as Josh Gordon, the top receiver in Cleveland, is suspended for the first two games of the season after failing the league's drug policy.
The Dolphins made a few splashes into free agency after ending last season 7-9, their fourth straight losing season. Although rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill held his own, the Dolphins' offense was still one of the worst in the league. Miami went out and picked up receivers Mike Wallace and Brandon Gibson to give Tannehill some new targets. Although the Browns have been a disappointment on their season opener for quite some time, the Dolphins have struggled against the Browns -- losing their last four games.
