The Cincinnati Bengals spent a pretty sum of money to keep their playoff team intact, and their first stop on that track this season comes on the road against the Chicago Bears.
How to watch Bengals vs. Bears online, TV schedule, radio and more
The Chicago Bears get their fourth straight season opener at home, and it has worked out well in the past to the tune of three straight opening wins.
Sunday marks the NFL debut of Marc Trestman, who the Bears hired from the CFL after firing Lovie Smith in the offseason. For the Bears to succeed this season, they will need more from quarterback Jay Cutler, who had one of his worse years last season -- much of that was due to the offensive line, sure, but Cutler is still at least partly to blame. The Bears spent the offseason upgraded their offensive line to give Cutler more time to find receivers.
The Bengals haven't had the success the Bears have had at the start of the season, losing four out of their last five season openers. But they have won their last two games against the Bears, one at home and one at Soldier Field. Cincinnati spent some cash maintaining their playoff roster from last season, but still missed out on winning a playoff game. The Bengals added tight end Tyler Eifert and running back Giovani Bernard to the mix, which should be enough to give most defensive units fits when you also throw in quarterback Andy Dalton and wide receiver A.J. Green.
