Larod Stephens-Howling injury: Steelers running back done for the day against Titans

Stephens-Howlings has been forced out for the remainder of the game after injuring his knee.

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Larod Stephens-Howling's day against the Tennessee Titans has come to an early end. He has left the game with a knee injury and is not expected to return, according to Adam Caplan.

Stephens-Howling has been replaced on the field by Felix Jones, who joined the team this offseason after spending his first five years in the league with the Dallas Cowboys.

Stephens-Howling, himself an offseason acquisition, had six carries for 19 yards before exiting. His departure doesn’t help a Pittsburgh offense that has gained just 27 yards on the ground through three quarters.

After spending his first four seasons in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals, Stephens-Howling signed with Pittsburgh as a free agent back in April.

It's another blow for the Steelers' running back corps that's already without starter Le'Veon Bell. The team's second-round pick in the 2013 NFL draft, Bell is inactive against the Titans with a foot sprain.
