Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson picked up right where he left off from 2012. In Sunday's regular season debut, Peterson rushed 18 times for 93 yards and two touchdowns. He added one more touchdown in the passing game.
Adrian Peterson scores 3 TD, runs for 93 yards vs. Lions
Once again, Adrian Peterson was the Vikings’ entire offense, racking up three total touchdowns in his 2013 debut.

Peterson started his season off on the right note, taking his first carry 78 yards to the house. He added a four-yard run in the second quarter. Peterson didn't get many carries in the second half as the Vikings got drawn into a shootout with the Detroit Lions, but he contributed in the passing game, getting four catches for 18 yards and a touchdown. His third quarter touchdown catch was the Vikings' final score in a 34-24 loss.
Peterson said he wants to get 2,500 rushing yards this season. That’s probably not going to happen, but there’s no doubt the Vikings will continue to use him as their offensive centerpiece. If Christian Ponder performs as poorly as he did on Sunday, they’ll probably have no choice. Purple Jesus should make fantasy owners happy once again this season.
