Jamaal Charles injury: Chiefs RB hurts quad in win

Chiefs fans can breathe a sigh of relief with the latest news on their star running back.

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles left Sunday's 28-2 win over the Jaguars with a quad injury, but Andy Reid is not concerned about the injury, according to Dave Skretta of the Associated Press.

In his press conference after the game, Reid said he expects Charles to be fine. He was held out the rest of the afternoon because the Chiefs had the game well in hand.

Before leaving the game for good, Charles touched the ball 19 times and racked up 100 total yards and a touchdown. Reid lined Charles up as a wide receiver on a few plays, which proved to be effective. He caught three passes from Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith.

Charles has struggled with injuries in the past, so the quad injury came as a scare. He dealt with a foot injury in the preseason and tore his ACL in 2011. This latest scare seems to be minor, however.
