- The Tennessee Titans appear to be closing in on a head coaching candidate despite not interviewing him yet. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that owner Tommy Smith is "smitten with Seattle" to the extent that Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is considered a finalist already. Quinn has been unavailable to do interviews with Seattle still in the playoffs. This is his first year as a coordinator, having previously served as a defensive line coach. He replaced Gus Bradley, who took the head coaching job in Jacksonville.
- The Minnesota Vikings have a couple of 49ers assistants on tap. They are interviewing offensive coordinator Greg Roman and defensive line coach Jim Tomsula on Saturday for the vacant head coaching spot. Minnesota has also shown interest in Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. The Vikings have told candidates that they'll have a shortlist of 2-3 finalists on Monday and plan on making a final decision sometime next week.
- Oakland Raiders offensive line coach Tony Sparano has taken himself off the market. Sparano signed a two-year contract to stay with the Raiders. His name was previously being floated as an offensive coordinator candidate.
- The Miami Dolphins are down to three candidates at offensive coordinator. Schefter reported that Miami is looking at Kyle Shanahan, Gary Kubiak and Ben McAdoo to replace Mike Sherman. Kubiak is the only one with NFL head coaching experience, being let go by the Houston Texans earlier this year. Kyle Shanahan was fired along with his father, Mike, after the Redskins finished 3-13. McAdoo is the quarterbacks coach for the Packers and considered a rising talent in the coaching ranks.
