2014 NFL playoffs: Pierre Thomas inactive for Saints vs. Seahawks

New Orleans will be forced to play without their leading rusher for a second consecutive week.

Earlier this week, the New Orleans Saints got some promising news when running back Pierre Thomas returned to practice for the first time since injuring his chest in Week 17. Practicing is all he'll be doing this week, though, as he's been ruled inactive for Saturday's game against the Seattle Seahawks, according to the Associated Press' Tim Booth.

The Saints were forced to play without Thomas, their leading rusher, last week in a win over the Philadelphia Eagles. They leaned on a committee of Mark Ingram, Darren Sproles and Khiry Robinson to pile up 185 rushing yards, but will face a much stiffer defense in Seattle.

Defensive lineman Akiem Hicks will suit up for the Saints.

Seattle’s Percy Harvin, who has only played in one game all season while battling offseason hip surgery, has been listed as active and will be on the field for the first time since Week 11.

Inactive for the Seahawks are wide receiver Bryan Walters, running back Christine Michael, linebacker K.J. Wright, defensive end Benson Mayowa, defensive tackle Jordan Hill and guards Caylin Hauptmann and James Carpenter, according to the AP's Curtis Crabtree.
