The Miami Dolphins missed the playoffs for the fifth straight year in 2013, ultimately getting general manager Jeff Ireland fired. Now, the Dolphins are in the process of finding his replacement, and are looking at Brian Xanders as a candidate, according to Brian McIntyre.
Dolphins will interview Brian Xanders, per report
Miami is searching for its new general manager, which has taken them to Brian Xanders.

Xanders will be the latest man to interview for the position, and he has some prior experience in the role. Xanders is currently the Detroit Lions senior personnel director but had been the Denver Broncos general manager from 2009-12.
Xanders cut his teeth in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons, where he worked from 1994-2007 in he player personnel department. From there, he moved onto Denver where he became the assistant general manager for a year before taking over the main gig.
If Xanders is brought on by Miami, he will be joining a team which went 8-8 last season, missing the playoffs because of a pair of season-ending losses against the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets.
