The New Orleans Saints haven't been to the Super Bowl since winning in back in 2009, something their quarterback is desperate to change.
Drew Brees willing to restructure deal
New Orleans’ franchise quarterback would accept a restructured contract to help the team win.

Drew Brees is open to restructuring his contract, provided it helps the team get back to glory, according to the Times-Picayune. Brees turns 35 years old on Wednesday, and perhaps because of that is willing to move some of his money around to free up some space under the salary cap.
Brees believes the team still has a Super Bowl base, per the piece:
”You look around and look at the veteran leadership on this team, you look at the young talent, you look at the systems in which we play, this organization and the expectation level that we’ve set for ourselves, the track record, and you would say the future is as bright as we want it to be. As hard as we’re willing to work, it’s all there for us. Now every year is a new year and you’ve got to re-establish that identity every year.
“The term ‘window of opportunity,’ in my opinion, is always there for us, for this team, for this organization, for this staff and this group of players. It’s always open.”
Brees has the biggest contract by far of any Saints, making $18.4 million next season before the number spikes to $26.4 and $27.4 over the following two seasons respectively. With New Orleans expected to be $12 million over the salary cap of $126 million next year, the team will either have to make some painful cap decisions or move significant amounts of cash around.
If the Saints can save some money against the cap, they might be able to sign tight end Jimmy Graham, cornerback Malcolm Jenkins and others to long-term deals.
