Jonathan Martin’s return to the Dolphins seems ‘impossible’

The former second-round pick will likely never wear a Miami uniform again.

USA TODAY Sports

It has been months since Jonathan Martin has stepped foot inside of the Miami Dolphins facilities. It wouldn't be surprising if he never does again.

Martin’s return to the Dolphins for the 2014-15 season is highly unlikely, according to the Miami Herald. Martin left the team back in October amidst a bullying scandal involving fellow offensive lineman Richie Incognito. Incognito was suspended from the team indefinitely and still has not been reinstated.

Martin, a former second-round pick out of Stanford in 2012, was playing left tackle before bolting. The incident which proved to be the breaking point took place in the cafeteria. When Martin sat down at a table, the players already sitting there got up and left, a joke according to them. Martin didn’t find it funny, storming out and never returning.

The Dolphins have publicly said they would welcome Martin back with open arms, but it is tough to see the players in the locker room being able to trust him again after such a public issue.
