Philadelphia Eagles vice president of player personnel Tom Gamble has pulled out of the running for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Miami Dolphins general manager searches, according to Albert Breer.

Tampa Bay and Miami have one less candidate to choose from with Gamble declining a potential change of address.

Gamble was thought to be a very good candidate for either position but has decided to stay put in the City of Brotherly Love. Gamble had spent eight seasons with the San Francisco 49ers as the director of player personnel before leaving to take on his new role in Philadelphia.
Originally, Gamble actually began his NFL front office career with the Eagles, working in various roles between 1988 and 1994.
It’s a tough spot for Gamble or any other candidate to step into the Buccaneers or Dolphins job, simply because they can’t choose the head coach. With Lovie Smith just being hired in Tampa and the Dolphins committed to Joe Philbin, the general manager can’t pick his own guy as the process normally goes.
