Aaron Dobson injury: Patriots WR says foot is progressing

Aaron Dobson’s foot is apparently improving, but his status for the AFC Championship game against the Broncos is still in the air.

Aaron Dobson's injured left foot is apparently making progress, but the New England Patriots wideout still can't say whether he will be ready to play in Sunday's AFC Championship game against the Denver Broncos, according to ESPN.

“I don’t really know what my situation is going to be this weekend, but I’ll go out there today, see how it feels, and go from there,” he said Friday before the team’s morning practice.

Dobson sat out last weekend's win over the Indianapolis Colts due to the injury he suffered during the Patriots' regular season finale against the Buffalo Bills. He was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday of this week, making Friday's practice an important one.

ESPN noted that Dobson had a travel bag in his locker, but added that the bag isn’t a guarantee that he will make the trip to Denver.

Dobson appeared in 12 games during the regular season. He missed the season opener with a hamstring injury, and three games in December with a sprained foot. When healthy, however, he became a regular part of a hamstrung Patriots passing attack. As a rookie, Dobson was the Pats’ fourth-leading receiver with 37 receptions for 519 yards and four touchdowns.
