Tom Brady, Peyton Manning react to Broncos winning AFC Championship Game
Happy Peyton is happy, and sad Tom is sad.
Peyton Manning got a monkey off his back by beating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots 26-16 in the AFC Championship Game.
After weeks of hearing about how he can’t beat Brady or the Patriots, Manning made it happen. He threw for 400 yards and two touchdowns, while Brady wasn’t able to muster 300 yards.
By the end of the game, Manning was thinking about the Super Bowl with his biggest rival in his rearview mirror. It must have felt nice.
But for every winner, there is a loser. For the second straight season, Brady and the Patriots fell one game short of the Super Bowl. A few frustrating overthrows and a day spent dealing with a muddy pocket and few open receivers. It was another rough afternoon for Brady. While his rival was milking the clock and the Broncos were thinking about the Super Bowl, Brady couldn't hide his dismay.
