Adam Gase turns down Browns interview

The Denver Broncos will keep offensive coordinator Adam Gase for another year, as he has informed the Cleveland Browns that they can continue their head coaching search without him.

The Cleveland Browns are moving on with their head coaching search without Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Gase was not willing to take part in an interview prior to the Super Bowl and informed the Browns that they can "move on with their search," according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Gase led the most productive offense in NFL history this year, though most will say that quarterback Peyton Manning was the catalyst for the monster numbers. Denver downed the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship, and will take on the Seattle Seahawks in the upcoming Super Bowl. Both teams are No. 1 seeds.

It seems unlikely that Gase would be willing to leave Denver regardless, and asking him to interview while prepping for the Super Bowl seemed crazy to begin with. Gase is just 35 years old and his name has only recently come up in the coaching search.

Another solid year in Denver could position Gase to land another job elsewhere, and could potentially spark a bidding war. This offseason, only the Browns are without a head coach at this point, so his options are obviously limited. It certainly doesn’t seem to be the most desirable job out there.
